Privacy
Mimic processes everything on the device and never sends anything anywhere.
- Camera frames are read and discarded on the device. Mimic doesn’t store, upload or forward them.
- Face measurements (mesh, expression scores, head pose) exist only in memory while the camera runs.
- The SDK makes no network requests and has no analytics or telemetry. The face model ships inside the package; nothing is downloaded at runtime on React Native or Unity. On the web, your own server delivers the model like any other static file.
- A calibration profile is a few numbers describing a resting face (eye openness, mouth shape, head angle). Mimic only hands it to your code. Storing it is your choice, and it can’t be turned back into an image.
App store questionnaires
Section titled “App store questionnaires”Because nothing leaves the device through Mimic, it doesn’t add any “data collected” entries to Apple’s privacy labels or Google Play’s data safety form. You still need a camera usage description (iOS) and the camera permission (Android); see React Native.
If your app records or uploads video or gesture data itself, that’s your app’s collection and you declare it as usual.
Recordings
Section titled “Recordings”The Unity Mimic Recorder and similar tools write face samples to a local file, for debugging only, when you add them. Nothing records unless you do.
